My story

Early years

Originally hailing from Myanmar (Burman), I migrated to Australia an eight-year-old girl, amidst the chaos of a country fighting for a revolution, in the late 1980's. It was a time when Australia's multiculturalism culture was still emerging and I had to navigate a strange, foreign and yet exciting landscape. This early experience fueled my adventurous and creative spirit, driving me to explore diverse cultures and forge connections across various backgrounds in search of my place in the world.

Career

Throughout my corporate career, I've traversed continents, leading cross-cultural teams in large, complex businesses across the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe. These experiences have granted me a profound understanding of how culture shapes performance and the mindset shifts necessary to cultivate leaders and workforces that embrace innovative approaches to leadership, sustainability, and leaving a lasting legacy.

Crucible moment

I can recall the exact moment, almost five years ago when I had an idea, a dream to create unique experiences to combine adventures with personal and professional development.

It was a crucible moment and that year had been a rollercoaster ride of triumphs and challenges, starting off with a skiing accident that needed months of rehab and my family moved to Canada for a work assignment, only to discover, after three months, that we were being uprooted again.

Amidst the uncertainty, anxiety and stress (and a lot of tears), skiing became my lifeline - a source of solace, strength, and precious family moments, cherishing the time we had together in the mountains knowing that this life we created and so desperately wanted to maintain was about to end.

In that moment the seed for Bluebird Leadership was planted.

Now

Today, I call Meanjin (Brisbane) home, residing on the land of the Turrbal peoples with my husband Andrew, son Dylan, and two beloved Labradors, Charlie and Lola. Outside of work, I'm a lifelong learner and ski enthusiast, finding inspiration and resilience on the slopes. I approach my work with a blend of passion and pragmatism, striving to develop better leaders for a better world, one steeped in empowerment, growth, and positive impact.
